Funeral service for the late Myrtle Velda Clyde King, 89, Port Hawkesbury, was held September 23 in St. Mark’s United Church, Port Hawkesbury, with Nan Corrigan, DM, officiating. Burial was in Southbrook Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury. Mrs. King died September 20, 2018, in Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born in Louisbourg she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Wilson) Beaver. She was a bookkeeper by profession, but spent most of her adult life as a stay-at-home mom. She was proud of her Louisbourg heritage and loved visiting and entertaining family over the years. She enjoyed a good laugh and was always up for a road trip. She and her husband went on many adventures as their children were growing up. She adored her four grandchildren and would take every opportunity to spend time with each one of them. She loved hearing their stories and was proud of their accomplishments. She is survived by daughter, Brenda (Bob) MacEachern, Port Hastings; son, Charles (Fiona) King, Cleveland; three grandchildren, Cameron, Heather, Courtney; brother, Everett (Greta) Beaver, Louisbourg. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard; granddaughter, Nicole; two sisters, Catherine Harris, Haroldine MacKay; eight brothers, John, Everett, in infancy; Harold, Hughie, Tommy, Donald, Melvin, Duncan.
