Funeral service for the late Norman Francis Everett, 84, Arbour Drive Extension, Antigonish County, was held October 11 in Half Island Cove Baptist Church, with Pastor David Wheeler officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Mr. Everett died October 4, 2018, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born September 19, 1934, in Halifax, he was brought up in an orphanage home in Truro. He worked at the Canadian National Railway in Ontario as a carmen for 29 years. Retired at the age of 60, he returned to Nova Scotia, where he enjoyed going to dances, playing darts, making quilts and watching wrestling with his buddy Joseph. He is survived by his common-law partner of 21 years, Sharon Hanhams; two sons, Francis Everett, Norman Junior, both of Ontario; two daughters, Diane Everett, Delores Everett, both of Ontario; nine grandchildren; two step-children, Wanda Hanhams, Jeffrey Hanhams. He was predeceased by his wife, Diane; son, John; daughter, Henrietta; two granddaughters, Morgan Snow, Madison Hanhams; brother, Robert.
