Owen Osburne Byard

Funeral service for the late Owen Osburne Byard, 91, Guysborough, was held August 25 in Sunnyville United Baptist Church with Pastor Clara Jordan officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough. Mr. Byard died August 21, 2018, at home. He was the son of the late Walter and Sarah (Tynes) Byard. He worked for the Nova Scotia Power Commission, cutting trees from power lines. He also worked for the late Ainley Clyke as a woodsman. He devoted his life to his family and friends. He is survived by two daughters, Gail, Guysborough; Janice (Norman), at home; five sons, Raymond (Brenda), Guysborough; Douglas (Linda), Sunnyville; Allan (Lisa), Port Hawkesbury; Owen (Alberta), Halifax; Clair (Valerie), Guysborough; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Howard Byard, Sunnyville; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Gussie (Clyke); son, Walter; five sisters, Emma, Louise, Florence, Mary, Cora; six brothers, Samuel, Joseph, John, Jerry, Archie, Ronnie.
