Patricia Ann ‘Pat’ Manthorne
Burial of the late Patricia Ann ‘Pat’ Manthorne, 71, Churchville, Pictou County, and formerly of Country Harbour, Guysborough County, will be held in Stormont Cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Manthorne died January 6, 2019, in Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow. Born July 13, 1947, in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Minnie Alberta (Johnston) Hallett. She met and married her husband, Cole, and set out with him to Ontario where she sailed the Great Lakes on freight boats with him as second cook/night cook. After living for a time in Quebec and New Brunswick, they moved to Halifax where she was employed at both Zellers and Sears. Upon moving home to Country Harbour, she was employed with the department of highways until 1985, when she became a stay-at-home mother and homemaker following the birth of her daughter. She was a seamstress and enjoyed working on crafts as well as her garden. She is survived by daughter, Andrea (Forrest) Jenkins, Springville; grandson, Colbourne; half-sister, Rita (Dale) Mason, Country Harbour; aunt, Kathleen (Robert) Davidson, Isaac’s Harbour; uncle, Charles (Cathy) Johnston, Scarborough, Ontario; two nieces, Erica Mason, Moncton; Nicole (Kendall) MacEachern, Country Harbour; several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Eugene Colburne ‘Cole’ Manthorne; uncle, Robert Johnston; nephew, Jason Mason. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
