PAUL RAYMOND MUSIAL
Funeral service for the late Paul Raymond Musial, 86, R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, was held July 12 in St. Ninian’s Cathedral with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Musial died July 7, 2019, at the home.
Reader at the funeral Mass was Chris van den Heuval. Music was provided by Margaret MacDonald.
Pallbearers were Brian van den Heuval, Jonathan van den Heuval, Stephen Musial and Patrick MacCormick.
Born Nov. 23, 1932, in New Waterford, he was the youngest of 10 children of the late Michael and Bertha (Boutilier) Musial. He worked many years for the Ontario and Nova Scotia departments of agriculture. After retiring, he and his wife, Sue, purchased and operated a convenience store for several years. For a few years he operated a Christmas tree/wreath business. He loved music, playing piano and guitar, and being outdoors. His faith was very important to him. He was a member of St. Ninian’s parish and volunteered at the Antigonish Food Bank.
He is survived by seven children, Anne (Herman) van den Heuvel, Skye Glen; Paula (Sandra MacMurray), Halifax; Joey Bishop, Bowmanville, ON; Michael, Beaver Cove; Susan (Myles) Hickey, Antigonish; Stephen (Fran), Oshawa, ON; Martin, Winnipeg; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Greg (Anne), Gardiner Mines; two sisters, Bertha (Archie) MacDonald, Gardiner Mines; Isabel, Dominion.
He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Sue (Duprey); three brothers Mike, Charlie, Conrad; three sisters, Lenora, Rena, Toni.
