Peter Alexander ‘Seven’ Bernard

Funeral service for the late Peter Alexander ‘Seven’ Bernard, 61, We’koqma’q First Nation, was held October 4 in the Multi-Purpose Building, We’koqma’q First Nation. Mr. Bernard died September 26, 2018, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born September 25, 1957, in Sydney, he was a son of the late Annie Mae (Sylliboy) and Charles Bernard. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and loved ones. He was passionate about aboriginal rights and traditional ways. He is survived by five children, Ginny, Bryan, Nathan, Deven, baby Seven; four step-children, Braedon, Leon, Drake, Leanne; 13 grandchildren, Mason, Garrison, Bryson, Carlson, Kaison, Kevin jij, Sara, Kenzie, Serena, Jaxon, baby Bryan, Enzo and Maya; brother, John Wayne; two sisters, Julena, Ducy (Bob); his brothers and sisters in the Mi’kmaq warrior society; seven godchildren, Hazlee, Amy, Dylan, Fred, Rene, Silipai, Carlee; many nieces and nephews.
