Funeral service for the late Peter Gordon Boudreau, 83, was held January 14 in St. Joseph’s Parish Church, Petit de Grat, with Father Dan Doucet officiating. Mr. Boudreau died January 11, 2019. Born July 22, 1935, in Little Anse, he was a son of the late Hyacinth and Clara (Samson) Boudreau. At the age of 16, he left home for Halifax in search of work. In 1954, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served until 1960. He was one of the founders and first Commanding Officer of the RCSCC 235 Arrow Sea Cadet Corps. He served in various positions for several summers at HMCS Acadia, Cornwallis and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 150. In 1968, he enrolled in a teaching program and taught cooking at IMDH and in Vocational Institute of Technology. He completed a Master Chef Program and was awarded the designation Chef de Cuisine. He owned and operated Chez Gordon Bakery, Chez Gordon Insurance, New Gord Enterprises and Chez Gordon Funeral Home. He enjoyed camping, Snowbirding in Florida, preparing meals and playing poker. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Idella (Boudreau) Boudreau; six children, Audrey Boudreau, Pondville; Simone (Richard) Boudreau, Renette (Godfrey) Sampson, Joël (Mindy), all of Petit de Grat; Daniel (Colleen), Beaverbank; Armel (Renée), Hammonds Plains; 12 grandchildren, Maurice (Jannick), Julien (Stephanie), Adèle, Réal, Nicole, Andrée (Drake), Maia, Erin, Emily, Sarah, Sophie, Miquel; great-granddaughter, Élodie; two brothers, Herman (Norma), Arichat; David (Donna), Whiteside; three sisters, Delia White, Medford; Delima (Elmer) Scanlan, Whiteside; Claire (Hubert) Doyle, Lockside; two brothers-in-law, Clem Landry, Little Anse; Charles Boudreau Petit de Grat; five sisters-in-law, Louise (Barry) Marchand, Magdalen (Vernon) Samson, both of Petit de Grat; Sister Gloria Boudreau, Sister Sylvia Boudreau, both of Moncton; Anne Boudreau, Poulamon; Jonathan Osmond. He was predeceased by brother, Russell; two sisters, Evelyn Gotell, Isabelle Landry; three brothers-in-law, Joe Gotell, George White, Alcide Boudreau; sister-in-law, Lucy Boudreau; mother and father-in-law, Lubin and Evangeline (Marchand) Boudreau.
