Born in Arisaig, Antigonish County, he was a son of the late Daniel Joseph and Alice (Delaney) MacEachern. He met and married his wife, Bernadette, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding in a few months. His greatest joy was his family. He was a man of great faith and love. He enjoyed holidays, especially Christmas and delighted in having his family and friends gathered for a meal, good music and dancing. He took great pride in his property and enjoyed being outdoors. He was member of Local #1392/#83 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. A carpenter by trade, his skill and craftsmanship brought him to many projects, big and small, all across the province. He and his life-long friend, Maurice, worked together as a team for more than 28 years. Their work can be found in numerous buildings and homes, where they took great pride in every detail.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadette; four children, Cindy MacEachern (Dominic Benoit), Ohio; Joey (Antonietta) MacEachern, Edmonton; Sandi (Kevin) Bowie, Afton; Dawn (Brent) Boyle, Afton; 11 grandchildren, Aidan, Michael, Devin, Kyle, Heidi, Jacob, Gracie, Logan, Hannah, Brody, Blake; great-granddaughter, Olivia Kaye; three brothers, Jerome (Mary), Maryvale; John (Marion) McArras Brook; Clarence, North Grant; four sisters, Josie (Johnny) MacEachern, Pleasant Valley; Mary Alice (Brian) Gammon, New Glasgow; Hilda, Antigonish; Jeanette Crooks, Antigonish.
