Ralph MacLean
A graveside service for the late Ralph MacLean, 76, was held May 19 in Gillis Cove Cemetery.
Mr. MacLean died May 9, 2019, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.
Born in Orangedale, he was a son of the late John Y. and Cassie MacLean. He was a fisherman and a lumberman all of his life and worked for DEVCO Oyster Fisheries for a number of years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Florence (MacKinnon); two daughters, Linda Campbell, Lisa (John); son, Vincent; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Ryan), Patrick and Adam; Arthur (Shannon), Jenelle (Angus) and Chelsea (Simon); Michael (Kelly) and Kyle (Jackie); eight great-grandchildren, Savannah and Mitchell Covin; (their father, Lionel); Cassie and Maggie MacLean; Rosie and Emily MacFadyen; Brody and Brayden MacLean; two brothers, Nelson (Shirley), Little Narrows, Edmund (Doris), Port Hawkesbury.
He was predeceased by granddaughter, Ashley Dawn MacFadyen; three sisters, Hughena, Kaye, Annie Mae; five brothers, Clarence, Dan, Willie, Alexander, Freddie.
Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.
