Raymond Joseph MacKenzie

Funeral service for the late Raymond Joseph MacKenzie, 80, formerly of Harbour Centre, was held December 31 in St. Columba Church, Lakevale, with Father Andrew Boyd officiating. Burial was in St. Ninian Cemetery, Antigonish. Mr. MacKenzie died December 27, 2018, in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late John Alex and Christina (MacLean) MacKenzie. He worked at St.F.X. University for 32 years. He enjoyed farming and his horses. He participated in horse pulls at the Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition and around the province for many years. He also enjoyed dancing. He is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Gordie (Shelly), Fort St. John, BC; Kenny (Connie), Truro; two daughters, Ann Marie (Dean) MacKenzie, New Glasgow; Carlie (Mike) McDonald, Havre Boucher; two grandchildren; sister, Dorothy MacKenzie; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Mary, Josie, Margaret; four brothers, Billy, Johnny, Ralph, Gordie. Memorial donations may be made to St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation Time is Now!
