Richard Leonard ‘Richie’ Hudson
A celebration of life for the late Richard Leonard ‘Richie’ Hudson, 79, Country Harbour, Guysborough County, was held March 6 in the Country Harbour Gun Club, Country Harbour. Burial will be held at a later date. Mr. Hudson died March 3, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born February 13, 1940, in Seal Harbour, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Mary Langille (Hudson) and Everett Hudson, both of Country Harbour. He was employed by Michelin Tire for 27 years, but truly enjoyed the 13 years he spent on the Great Lakes freighters. He was a diehard Habs fan his entire life. He enjoyed fishing at the ‘Big Lake’, spending time with friends, visiting neighbours, playing cards, free rum and reminiscing about his days on the Lakes. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah (David) Cook, Windsor Junction; Kim (Peter) Frederick, Dartmouth; ‘grandchildren’, Paget and Zachery Houston; two brothers, Henry, Antigonish; Raymond (Louise), James River; sister, Muriel Harris, Halifax; two sisters-in-law, June and Elaine Hudson; many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Ileen (Cooke); two brothers, Everett ‘Junior’; Randolph ‘Randy’; sister-in-law, Gladys Hudson; brother-in-law, Whitman Harris.
