Robert ‘Bob’ James Moore

Funeral service for the late Robert ‘Bob’ James Moore, 86, Charlos Cove, Guysborough County, was held November 9 in St. Joseph’s Church, Charlos Cove, with Father Callistus Abazie officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery.     

Mr. Moore died November 4, 2019, in Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough.     

Born June 17, 1933, in Antrim, Halifax Co., he was a son of the late Henry and Mary (Dillman) Moore.  He was a veteran of the Korean War, Army Unit RCASC and a long-standing member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 117, Torbay. He was also a member of the Welders and Pipe Fitters Union 56 in Halifax and Antigonish. In his retirement, he was a jack of all trades and avid gardener.     

He is survived by three daughters, Susan (Paul) Buckley, Seafoam; Darlene (Gordie) Pettipas, Marlene (Val) Richard, both of Charlos Cove; four grandchildren, Robert, Jacquelene (Patrick), Adam (Carrie), Josh (Jessica); two great-grandchildren, Alex, Lily; seven siblings, Henry (Jean), Margaret, Edgar (Linda), Rita, Nina (Harold), Richard (June), Clara; many nieces, nephews and their families.     

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Mae (Pelrine); three brothers, Anthony, George, Ronald; sister, Freda, in infancy.     

Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Cemetery Fund or Milford Haven Home for Special Care.
