Robert Leo O’Leary

Funeral service for the late Robert Leo O’Leary, 64, Canso, Guysborough County, was held October 6 in Canso United Baptist Church with Reverend David Wheeler officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Mr. O’Leary died October 1, 2018, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. He was a son of Winnifred Gertrude Cluney and Osborne Patrick O’Leary, Queensport. He was a hard worker and tried his hand at many different jobs. He fished in the summers with his father and other fishermen. He managed the refrigeration plant at Canso Seafood’s for many years. Due to illness, he had to retire from there, at which time he opened O’Leary’s Small Engine Repairs in his backyard. He enjoyed spending countless hours at his job. He was mostly self-taught, until taking an on-line correspondence course. Upon completion, his dream came true and many people frequented his shop over the past 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Audrey; brother, Wayne (Pauline); four sisters, Darlene (Ian), Maxine (Kevin P), Donna (Josh), Debbie (Kevin); many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
