Roger Fredrick Grover
A celebration of life for the late Roger Fredrick Grover, 65, Frankville, Antigonish County, was held March 9 in the Havre Boucher Community Centre.
Mr. Grover died March 1, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.
Born in Halifax, he was the fourth son of the late Howard and Amy (Armsworthy) Grover. He later returned to his parent’s home town of Canso, upon their retirement. He was an electrician by trade and a strong union brother. He was a member of the IBEW for 46 year and spent 30 years with the Communication Energy and Paper Workers Union while working in the pulp and paper industry in Point Tupper. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, beachcombing and gardening. He also enjoyed playing various sports and coached many youth who went on to win provincial titles, of which he was very proud. From the age of 13, he also loved to play music and enjoyed entertaining groups small or large.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn (Jamieson) Grover, Frankville; son, Christopher Grover (Jennifer MacDonald), Frankville; brother, David (Gail) Grover, South Hampton, Nova Scotia; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by half-sister Marie Jackson; half-brother, Alison; brother, Eric.
Memorial donations may be made to the Havre Boucher and District (No 9) Volunteer Fire Department.
