RONOLA PEARL STONE

Ronola Pearl Stone
Funeral service for the late Ronola Pearl Stone, 88, St. Peters, was held June 26 in St. Peter’s United Church with Pearl Miller officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery. Mrs. Stone died June 19, 2019, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born December 21, 1930, in Louisdale, she was a daughter of Kitchener and Ida Harnish. She was a long-time member of St Peter’s United Church, where she sang in the choir for more than 50 years. She was a member and former president of the United Church Women, a church trustee and a member of many committees. She was an excellent baker and always found time to provide food and assistance for church functions. After being widowed at an early age, she went to work at Morrison’s store and a short time at Stone’s Drug store to provide for her family. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Erin), David (Sheila); daughter, Karen; three grandchildren, William, Catherine, Ella; brother, Basil Harnish, Sydney; seven sisters, Bessie (Walter) Cullen, Florida; Shirley (Cliff) Brannan, Thunder Bay, Ontario; Mary (Alan) Blois, Harrietsfield; Carolyn (Frank) Jones, Elsie (Jack) MacLeod, Sandra Murrin, Sydney; Lynn (Dennis) Barnhill, Greenfield; two brothers-in-law, Alex (Buddy) MacRae, Halifax; Larry Hosanna, Thunder Bay, Ont.; two sisters-in-law, Donna Harnish, Rosena Harnish. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo; three brothers, Earl, William, Robert; two sisters, Becky Hosanna, Eileen MacRae; brother-in-law, Jack MacLeod.
