She was also an avid curler, who enjoyed many games at the Garrison Curling Club in Kingston and travelling many places to curl in bonspiels with her teammates. She was a member of the Canso Shamrock Club, and Star of the Sea Parish in Canso. She and her husband enjoyed a long and well-travelled retirement all over North America, hosting family and old friends at a Florida residence they had for 10 years. In June of 2013, they moved home to Canso.
