ROSALIE SABINE SAMPSON

Funeral service for the late Rosalie ‘Sissy’ Sampson, 72 Lower L’Ardoise, was held January 6 in Holy Guardian Angels Parish, L’Ardoise, with Father John Yake officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Sampson died December 31, 2019, at home.

Born April 6, 1947, in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Matilda (LeRoy) Martell. She met her future husband while visiting her aunt in L’Ardoise. They settled in Lower L’Ardoise to raise their children while working in the family business. Although her passion was being a mother and grandmother, she always found time to attend her card games, which she enjoyed.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Arthur; son, Kenny, Dartmouth; two daughters, Cheryl (Chris), River Bourgeois; Mari-Eileen (Sean), Halifax; six grandchildren, Matthew, Melanie, MacKenzie, Connor, Carlie, Abby; two brothers, Billy (Donna), John (Audrey), both of Sydney; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sister, Mary Eileen, in infancy.

Memorial donations may be made to Dr. Kingston Memorial Community Health Centre or a charity of choice.
