Roy James Borden

Funeral service for the late Roy James (Bowden) Borden, 86, Sunnyville, Guysborough County, was held October 19 in Grace Baptist Church, Sunnyville, with Pastor John Bain officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough. Mr. Borden died October 15, 2018, at home. Born in Sunnyville, he was the son of the late Clarey (Bowden) Anderson and Anne Lucy Bowden. He worked at Canso Seafood for many years. He was a woodsman, hauling wood with his horse. He lived with his niece, Joan Clyke, in Sunnyville. He is survived by four sons, James, Peter, Paul, Phillip, all of Halifax; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marie, Toronto; Elizabeth, Sydney; Christina, Guysborough, Evelyn, Halifax; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Carolyn McCarthy; sister, Lominda Anne (Bowden) Clyke; wife, Mildred Borden. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Baptist Church.
