Ruth Jean MacKinnon

A celebration of life for the late Ruth Jean MacKinnon, 75, Mackdale, Inverness County, was held October 9 in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43, Port Hawkesbury. A private burial will take place at a later date. Mrs. MacKinnon died October 4, 2018, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born April 24, 1943, in Inverness, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Catherine (MacQuarrie) MacKinnon. She was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by two sons, Rod MacKinnon, Kevin MacKinnon; daughter, Deborah Anne Matthews; three grandchildren, Alexander Brooks MacKinnon, Chantelle Wright, Chaylene Marie Wilkinson; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Jean, Haily, Alecia; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley MacKinnon, Warren MacKinnon; sister, Mary Cunningham. Memorial donations may be made to the CNIB. Online condolences: www.haverstocks.com
