SHANNON DAVID SAMPSON

Shannon David Sampson

Funeral service for the late Shannon David Sampson, 47, Calgary, Alberta, formerly of Linwood and Truro, was held December 16 in St. Peter’s Church, Tracadie, with Father John Barry officiating, assisted by Deacon Berkley Guthro. Burial was in the parish cemetery.     

Mr. Sampson died December 6, 2019, in Calgary. 

Readers at the funeral Mass were Raylene Chisholm and Jennifer Sampson. Taylor, Riley and Macy Sampson presented the offertory gifts. Altar servers were Donnie Pitts, Myles Somers and Frank Macknik. Music was provided by Ty Wallace. 

Urn bearers were Hannah Sampson and Brianne Sampson.    

Born May 11, 1972, in Hamilton Ontario, he was a son of Jerome and Betty (Pettipas) Sampson of Linwood. He graduated from Antigonish East High and continued his education at NSCC, graduating  with a diploma in Plumbing/Pipefitting. He went on to become a red seal journeyman tradesman working on a number of construction sites in Alberta.     

Besides his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Hannah (Denver), Brianne (Lucas); grandchild, Lennox; Angie, the mother of his children, Truro; five brothers, Dwayne (Rochelle) Calgary; Marcel (Danette), Linwood; Jerry (Leslie), Calgary; Leon (Tara), Edmonton; Raymond (Jennifer), Linwood; many relatives.     

He was predeceased by an older brother, in infancy; several uncles; his maternal and paternal grandparents.     

Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s CWL Luncheon Committee or a charity of choice.
