Shirley Annette Dollard

Funeral service for the late Shirley Annette Dollard, 83, Canso, Guysborough County, was held May 27 in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso, with Father Jonathan officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Dollard died May 20, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born April 10, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Catherine (Sullivan) Murphy. She was a former fish plant worker at BC Packers in Canso and cashier in many local stores. She finally retired from Canso Pharmacy in 1984. She was a long-time member of Star of the Sea Parish, where she was part of the choir and organist for many years. She looked forward to the many choir sings and also belonged to the ecumenical choir. She is survived by her best friend and companion, Patrick Parker, Canso; daughter, Gloria (Berkley) Dixon, Canso; two grandchildren, Jocelyn (Andrew), Shelburne; Jared, Canso; brother, Cecil (Eileen) Murphy, Dartmouth. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter William Dollard; son, William Neil Dollard; three brothers, Donnie, Jackie, Kenny.
