SUSAN 'MICHELLE' CHISHOLM

Susan 'Michelle' Chisholm

Funeral service for the late Susan ‘Michelle’ Chisholm, 48, was held December 5 in St. Ninian Cathedral, Antigonish, with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating.

Ms. Chisholm died November 28, 2019.

Readers at the funeral Mass were Jean MacNeil, Terry Chisholm and Wanda Chisholm. Music was provided by St. Ninian Funeral Choir, under the direction of Emery Van de Wiel; Elizabeth McNamara and Laura Teasdale.

Urn bearers were brothers Wayne and Allister Chisholm.

She was a daughter of Evangeline ‘Dee Dee’ and the late Maurice Chisholm. She grew up in Antigonish and received her undergraduate in Physical Education, as well as her Bachelor of Science and Nursing from St. Francis Xavier University. She continued her studies at Dalhousie University achieving her Masters of Nursing Degree. Working in various positions as a registered nurse, her last position was clinical associate at the St. Francis Xavier University School of Nursing.  She enjoyed sports and excelled as a distance runner while at St. F. X. She also enjoyed the Yankees, gardening and especially decorating her parents’ yard in North Grant for every birthday, anniversary and season.

Besides her mother, she is survived by seven siblings Edward, North Grant; Kevin (Donna), Edmonton; Wayne (Bea), New Glasgow; Darryl, Halifax; Linda (David), Alberta; Betty Lou (Dan), Halifax; Alastair, North Grant; many nieces, nephews and a large extended family; ‘second mom’ Theresa Arsenault, North Grant.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Dennis, Shawn; sister-in-law, Sarah; grandparents, Wilfred and Jean Arsenault, Frank and Mary Chisholm.

Memorial donations may be made to The Shawn Chisholm Memorial Bursary c/o Dr. John Hugh Gillis High School, 105 Braemore Ave., Antigonish NS B2G 1L3.
