Funeral service for the late Flora Christena ‘Tena’ Coady, 70, Havre Boucher, Antigonish County, was held September 14 in St. Paul’s Church, Havre Boucher, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Coady died September 10, 2019, in QEII, Halifax.
Readers at the funeral Mass were Samantha Nielsen and Catherine Drysdale. Emily MacKinnon and Nicole MacKinnon presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by St. Paul’s choir.
Pallbearers were Jack Nielsen, Donnie MacInnis, Allan Bates, Clem Monroe, John Mullany and Tim Parker.
Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Maye (Walker) MacKenzie. She had unconditional love for her grandchildren and her pets. She had a great sense of humour that usually was evident in the belly laughs heard coming from her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharleen (Eric) Nielsen, Tammy (Tim Parker) MacKinnon, both of Halifax; four grandchildren, Martin MacKinnon (Nicole), Samantha Nielsen, Jack Nielsen, Emily MacKinnon.
She was predeceased by her husband, R.J. Coady; granddaughter, Robyn MacKinnon; brother, Martin Walker.
Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia SPCA.
