Trevor G. Mackay

Funeral service for the late Trevor Gerard MacKay, 32, Saltsprings, Antigonish County, was held July 5 in St. George’s Church, Georgeville, with Father Andrew Boyd officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mr. MacKay died June 28, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Urn bearer was his brother Justin MacKay.

Readers at the funeral Mass were Katlyn MacKay and Derek Druhan. Sharon Patzer and Mary Leigh MacIntyre presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by Tyrus Wallace.

He was a son of Gerard and Debbie (Druhan) MacKay. He was a free spirit and lived every day to the fullest. He enjoyed playing hockey, four wheeling, snowmobiling, mountain biking, playing cards and shooting pool. He recently moved back to Nova Scotia after working in Yellowknife as an electrician.  He was a member of IBEW #625.  He was an avid Boston Bruins’ fan and a proud Heatherton Warrior.

Besides his parents, he is survived by brother, Justin; grandmothers, Sally MacKay, Ann Theriault; grandfather, Leonard Druhan; aunts and uncles, Allan (Karen) MacKay, Sherry MacKay (Vincent), Mary Leigh MacIntyre (Rod), Gerard (Ginny) Druhan, Sharon (Bruce) Patzer, Ken (Jackie) Druhan, Derek Druhan (Candace); cousins, Melanie MacKay (Jake), Katlyn MacKay (Colin), Dylan MacIntyre; Kayleigh MacIntyre, Rachel Patzer, Mark Patzer, Gavin Druhan, Gillian Druhan, Harrison Druhan.

He was predeceased by grandfather, Cecil MacKay; aunt, Ruth Anne MacGillivray; two uncles, Ronnie MacGillivray; John Anthony MacKay, in infancy.

Memorial donations may be made to St. George's Cemetery Fund.
