Funeral service for the late Wilfred ‘Wilf’ Jerimiah Desmond, 88, Lincolnville, Guysborough County, was held January 30 in Tracadie Baptist Church with Pastor Clara Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyview Cemetery, Tracadie, at a later date.
Funeral service for the late Wilfred ‘Wilf’ Jerimiah Desmond, 88, Lincolnville, Guysborough County, was held January 30 in Tracadie Baptist Church with Pastor Clara Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyview Cemetery, Tracadie, at a later date. Mr. Desmond died January 23, 2019, at home. Born January 30, 1930, in Boylston, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late William George and Sarah Jane (Ash) Desmond. Before retiring in 1994, he was a delivery truck driver for Ultramar Fuels and a bus driver for Marshall McLaughlin to the vocational school in Port Hawkesbury. After retiring, he drove for RMAC Limousines and was the personal drive to Dr. Price. He was very charismatic, well known, respected and had an outgoing personality. He was an avid bingo player, guitar player, and enjoyed Wrestling and talk shows, namely, Jerry Springer and Maury Povich. He was always willing to lend a helping hand He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ardella (Ash) Desmond; former wife, Bessie Mae Moss; 20 children, Marjorie, Bernard, Alfred, Allan (Terry), Brenda Jones, Austin (Tracey), Tony, Francis, all of London, Ontario; Sandra (Kenneth Greencorn), Margaret, Linda, Diamond, all of Lincolnville; George (Dawn), Paqtnkek; Veronica (David), Halifax; Charlotte (Michael), Pickering, Ont.; Fraser (Delfina), Brampton, Ont.; Mary (Patrick), James, David (Donna), Robert, all of Toronto, Ont.; more than 100 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; two special great-children, Kalista, Khasean; brother, James ‘Jim’, Lincolnville; four godchildren, Ida Borden, Ester and Ronnie Medley, Grace Morris. He was predeceased by three sons, Gordon, Henry, one, in infancy; daughter, Brenda Mae; grandson, Cpl Lionel Desmond; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah; two brothers, Clarence, Jack; seven sisters, Effie, Charlotte, Ann, Gertrude, Emma, Margaret, Florence.
