In his Jan. 6 column, Dan Leger got it right. While you can’t draw a direct line linking coal to Australian fires, ignoring the possibility amounts to criminal negligence. Since Nova Scotia produces 53 per cent of its electricity by burning filthy, imported coal, without a murmur of opposition, are we not all criminally negligent?
