Acadia Axemen quarterback Hunter Guenard is this year's AUS football league most valuable player.
The fourth-year pivot totalled 2,287 passing yards and a league-best 16 touchdown passes to earn the Chris Flynn trophy. He was also named a conference all-star for a second straight year.
Teammate Bailey Feltmate won the Tony Proudfoot trophy as defensive player of the year and the student-athlete community service award. He was also an AUS first-team all-star and it is the second time he has been named the conference's top defender.
Feltmate was second in the league in solo tackles (45), total tackles (58.5) and tackles per game (7.4). He also has a 3.63 grade point average, is the director of the Acadia S.M.I.L.E. (Sensory Motor Instructional Leadership Experience) program and is an athletic therapist for the Axemen basketball team.
Also from Acadia, Oliver Grant was the lineman of the year, Jeff Cummins was named coach of the year and Michael Squires was the assistant coach of the year. The Axemen won the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record.
The only prize Acadia didn't claim was rookie of the year, which went to Daniel Bell of the Mount Allison Mounties. The defensive back finished fourth in the league with four sacks and was third on the Mounties with 35.5 tackles.
