The Antigonish U-18 Celtics boys’ team picked up a win against two losses in recent Nova Scotia Soccer League play.
The win was a 2-0 shutout over Valley United with Michael Putnam scoring both Celtic goals and Tyler Doiron earning the shutout.
Around that game, the team dropped a 3-1 game to Bedford and a 2-1 decision to the Cape Breton Selects.
Stephen Thompson scored versus Bedford, while Putnam had the goal in the contest with Cape Breton.
The Celtics did qualify for the Nova Scotia Soccer League U-18 Boys Provincials which took place Aug. 24 and 25 in Truro (results unavailable at press time).
In other Celtics’ action, the U-13 boys earned a 2-1 win over visiting CFC.
Antigonish goals scored were scored by Evan MacIsaac and Nima Nanji.
The U-15 girls gave coach Darryl MacDougall a 2-1 win over County on his birthday, Aug. 17, at Central Field in Antigonish.
Celtics goals were scored by Gracie Bowie and Aisling Boyd.
