MONCTON, N.B. — Five Cape Breton hockey players were successful in winning medals at the Atlantic Challenge Cup with Team Nova Scotia on Monday.

Lauren Barrett of Glace Bay and Samantha Morrison of Dominion won the gold medal, defeating Prince Edward Island 4-0 in the championship game. Morrison had two goals in the game.

In the under-14 male division, Hudson Clarke of Port Caledonia picked up a silver medal after dropping a 2-1 decision to New Brunswick.

In the under-18 female division, Erin Denny of Eskasoni and Madison Corbett of Sydney claimed the bronze medal with a 4-0 win over Prince Edward Island.

The four-day tournament was held in Moncton.
