PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. — Alex Christmas scored twice, including the game-winner, to lead the Cape Breton Jets to a 5-4 overtime victory against the Cabot Highlanders in Nova Scotia Minor Midget 'AAA' Hockey League action at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre on Friday.
Christmas also scored the game-tying goal with 1:17 remaining in the third period, sending the game to overtime.
Jonathan Gallant had a pair of goals, while Matthew Carroll chipped in with a single marker or the Jets (3-19-0-1)
Jack MacDonald netted two goals, while Landon MacIntosh and Marcus Larade also found the back of the net for the Highlanders (10-10-2-2).
Cape Breton's Darian McInnis made 34 saves. Cabot's Cole Goss stopped 27 of 32 shots.
The Highlanders outshot the Jets 38-35, however Cabot did not record a shot on goal in overtime. Cape Breton had six shots in the extra frame.
