ESKASONI, N.S. — The Dalbrae Dragons and Strait Area Education Recreation Centre Saints picked up regular season wins in the Cape Breton West High School Hockey League on Wednesday.

The Dragons blanaked the Eskasoni Warriors 8-0 at the Dan K. Stevens Memorial Arena in Eskasoni.

Matthew Ellis had a hat trick, firing home three goals for the Dragons, while Griffin Spears, Matt MacLean, Jayden Muise, Angus MacDonald and Ben Scott also recorded goals.

Boyd MacIntyre posted the win between the pipes. Emerson Marshall was tagged with the loss. Shots on goal were not provided.

In other action, the Saints beat the Richmond Hurricanes 6-1 at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.

Harrison MacFadyen scored three times, while Brady MacNeil and Andrew MacNeil chipped in with single markers for the Port Hawkesbury-based Saints.

Trent Diggdon had the lone goal for the Hurricanes.
