SYDNEY, N.S. — Cape Breton Eagles defenceman Jérémy Langlois will play for Hockey Canada at the upcoming World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Medicine Hat, Alta., and Moose Jaw, Sask.
The 16-year-old was one of 66 players selected to play in the tournament, which runs Nov. 2-9.
The players will be divided into three teams — Team Canada Black, Team Canada Red and Team Canada White — and will compete against the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden and the United States.
Langlois was drafted by the Eagles in the first round, No. 17 overall, at the QMJHL Entry Draft last June.
In 10 games with the Eagles this season, Langlois has no points and four penalty minutes with a minus-1 rating.
