SYDNEY, N.S. — The Cabot Highlanders picked up a pair of road wins in Nova Scotia Minor Midget 'AAA' Hockey League action over the weekend.
On Sunday, the Port Hawkesbury-based Highlanders downed the ChiroCare Kings of Sackville 4-1 at the Sackville Arena.
Brent O'Handley scored twice, while Miles Farnsworth and Jack MacDonald added single markers for the Highlanders (7-7-1-2).
Zachary Jenkins had the lone goal for the Kings (5-6-4).
Brandon Connors made 23 saves for the Highlanders. Gabe Thomey turned aside 22 of 25 shots for the Kings.
On Saturday, the Highlanders edged the Fundy Thunder of Truro 3-2 in a shootout at the Colchester Legion Stadium.
Landon MacIntosh and Kieran MacDonald scored goals for Cabot in regulation time. The shootout winner was not available.
Andyn Furmidge and Ty Ingraham netted goals for the Thunder (5-9-0-1).
Cole Goss made 20 saves for the Highlanders. DJ Oderkirk stopped 22 of 24 shots for Fundy.
