ESKASONI, N.S. — Mitchell Johnston and Blake Cox each scored twice to lead the Kameron Jr. Miners to an 8-2 win over the Eskasoni Eagles in Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League action at the Dan K. Stevens Memorial Arena on Sunday.

Josh MacKay, Daniel Reid, Logan Struthers and MacKenzie Erickson added single markers for the Miners (6-1-1-0).

Kinnon Williams and Daymon Johnson replied with goals for the Eagles (2-5-1-0).

Kaine Drake made 44 saves in the win for the Miners. Alexander Denny stopped 19 of 27 shots for the Eagles.

In Port Hawkesbury, the Strait Pirates were edged 3-2 in a shootout by the Cole Harbour Colts at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre on Sunday.

Liam Kilmurray and Will MacRae scored goals for the Colts (5-3-0-0).

Joshua MacMillan had both goals for the Pirates (5-2-0-1).

Shootout information was not available.

Zachary Mason made 41 saves for Cole Harbour. Cody Smith turned aside 37 of 39 shots for Strait.
