The Rimouski Océanic will be without their No. 1 goaltender for at least four to six weeks.
Colten Ellis of River Denys had surgery for a nagging undisclosed injury last Thursday. According to the team, Ellis has been dealing with the injury for a “few years.”
The St. Louis Blues third-round draft pick last June has appeared in 15 games this season and has a 9-3-1-1 record, along with a 2.61 goals-against-average and .905 save percentage.
For now, rookie Raphaël Audet will take control of the Rimouski net. He was an eighth-round pick by the Océanic in 2017.
