VIDEO: Budhoo scores twice in Cape Breton Capers win over X-Men Friday

SYDNEY, N.S. — Caelan Budhoo scored a pair of goals to help the Cape Breton Capers down the St. Francis Xavier X-Men 3-1 in Atlantic University Sport men's soccer action at the Cape Breton Health Recreation Complex in Sydney on Friday.

Cory Bent also found the back of the net for the Capers (8-0-1) in the contest.

Nick Aquino had the lone goal for the X-Men (7-2-1).

Ben Jackson made one save for Cape Breton. Seamus MacDonald stopped three of six shots for St. Francis Xavier.

The U Sports No. 1 ranked Capers opened the scoring early in the first half with Bent finding the back of the net at the three-minute mark, before Budhoo made the score 2-0 at the 34th-minute.

The X-Men cut the Capers lead to one before the first half was complete with Aquino beating Capers keeper Jackson.

Cape Breton secured the victory with Budhoo's second goal of the game, sixth of the season, at 51:56 of the second half.

The Capers will return to the pitch on Saturday when they host the Memorial Sea-Hawks at 3:15 p.m. at the Cape Breton Health Recreation Complex.

As for the X-Men, they're back in action on Sunday when they host the Sea-Hawks at 3:15 p.m. at StFX Stadium in Antigonish.
