The Cabot Highlanders took the latest edition of the battle of Cape Breton at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre on Thursday.
The Port Hawkesbury-based Highlanders blanked the Cape Breton Jets 2-0 in Nova Scotia Minor Midget ‘AAA’ Hockey League action.
Marcus Larade and Grand Cameron found the back of the net for the Highlanders (8-7-1-2), who with win move to third place in the eight-team league standings.
With the loss, the Jets fall to 2-12-0-1 and are currently last in the league.
Brandon Connors made 16 saves for his first shutout of the season. Andrew Marsh turned aside 22 of 23 shots in the loss.
Cabot will return to action on Saturday when they host the Valley Wildcats at 6 p.m. at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.
As for the Jets, they will continue their homestand this weekend with a pair of games against the Basin Armada of Bedford, beginning Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre.
