Nova Scotia's Taylour Stevens dropped her second game at the New Holland Canadian junior curling championships in Langley, B.C.

The Stevens rink of third Lindsey Burgess, second Kate Callaghan and lead Cate Fitzgerald out of the Halifax Curling Club fell 7-5 to Ontario’s Sierra Sutherland on Thursday afternoon. Their record slips to 6-2.

Only one junior girls' team has a better record than Nova Scotia. Manitoba, with Burgess's cousin Karlee Burgess as third, is undefeated at 8-0 after beating Saskatchewan 10-4 on Thursday. The Mackenzie Zacharias rink has guaranteed a spot in the gold medal final.

The Burgess rink played later Thursday against Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Nova Scotia junior boys' rink of Graeme Weagle, Owen Purcell, Jeffrey Meagher and Scott Weagle out of Halifax saw its record drop to 4-4 following a 5-4 setback to Newfoundland and Labrador on Thursday.

The Daniel Bruce rink scored two in the final end to pul out the victory for Newfoundland (7-2).

Weagle played a later match against Saskatchewan on Thursday night.
