Pirates beat Bulldogs to take sole possession of Sid Rowe Division

PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. — The Strait Pirates head into the Christmas break in sole possession of the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Sid Rowe Division.

The Port Hawkesbury-based Pirates doubled the Antigonish AA Munro Jr. Bulldogs 4-2 at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre on Friday.

Prior to the game, the Bulldogs and Pirates were tied for first place in the six-team division.

Brandon Dauphinee scored twice, while Josh Foster and Olan Spears added single markers for the Pirates (14-5-1-2).

Andrew Boyle and Fearghus MacDonald replied with goals for the Bulldogs (14-3-1-0).

Cody Smith made 30 saves for the Pirates. Cody MacEachern stopped 31 of 34 shots for the Bulldogs.
