PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. — Weather conditions caused the cancellation of four elite level hockey games involving Cape Breton teams on Friday.
The Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League game between the Strait Pirates and the Pictou County Scotians was cancelled. The game was scheduled to be played at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.
Meanwhile, the Eskasoni Eagles’ game against the Antigonish AA Munro Bulldogs at the Antigonish Arena was also cancelled on because of weather conditions.
In Port Hood, the Nova Scotia Eastlink Major Midget Hockey League game between the Cape Breton West Islanders and Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild was cancelled at the Al MacInnis Sports Centre.
As for the Cape Breton West High School Hockey League game between the Eskasoni Warriors and Inverness/Baddeck Rebels, it was also cancelled. The contest was slated for the Victoria Highland Civic Centre in Baddeck.
All four games are expected to be rescheduled. However, the dates were not confirmed at press time.
