ANTIGONISH, N.S. - The Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre and the Nova Scotia Health Authority’s Public Health Department are holding a free workshop entitled Translation and Interpretation: Navigating Cultures and Languages in Communicating with Diverse Clients.

The workshop is open to local community members, community-based organizations, health care, educational institutions, government/non-government agencies, etc., who work with diverse populations.

In this workshop, participants will explore how intercultural context impacts language communication, interaction and interpretation, and become familiar with the skills and competencies needed to navigate linguistic and cultural communication in delivering service to clients.

               The workshop will take place on September 21, from 1.30 pm to 3.30 p.m., at the Claire Marie Centre, St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.
